Okay, this was... dissapointing. Not bad, mind you, just kinda meh. The story was predictable and the behaviour of the main hero pissed me off. Guess noble heroes aren't my thing. Banished from his life at court because he takes men to his bed, the newly minted Baron of Darkwood arrives at a derelict castle assigned to him from the King ready to start over. The castle is guarded by a fearsome gargoyle who isn't a silent protector but a fantastical creature. A interesting short read. Jothan is given the title Baron of Darkwood and sent to make the lands profitable again after the king tires of hearing of his loose sexual behavior.
