And never pulls you out of the story with modern speech.I believe this is one of her earlier works, a rags-to-riches romance. Not deep, but delightful. Fictionwise multiformat ebook Nice little romance story with a dash of intrigue. Felt very Balogh-esque in places, but was still very much Lynne Connolly's voice. Some of the things I very much enjoyed in this author's Richard and Rose series appear here as well.
